Rabbit embroidered wool pants unqualified consumers complained for six months without reply

Recently, a customer named Mr. Lou reported an issue with three rabbit-embroidered wool trousers he purchased from Tianjin Binjiang Commercial Building on February 25, 2010. He claimed the products were substandard, and after over six months of communication with the manufacturer, no response had been received.

A customer named Mr. Lou recently contacted the newspaper, reporting that the three rabbit-embroidered wool trousers he bought from Tianjin Binjiang Commercial Building on February 25, 2010, were not of acceptable quality. Despite multiple attempts to resolve the issue through negotiations with the manufacturer, no satisfactory response had been received after more than six months.

Upon being advised by a friend in the garment industry about potential quality issues, Mr. Qi sent the rabbit-embroidered wool trousers to the Jiangsu Provincial Textile Product Quality Supervision and Inspection Institute for testing. The results revealed a significant discrepancy between the product's labeled composition and its actual content. The trousers, labeled as 10.1% cashmere, 67.7% wool, and 22.2% polyester, were found to contain only 3.2% cashmere, 47.4% wool, 9.0% polyester, 10.2% polyamide, 28.6% viscose, and 1.6% spandex. This raised serious concerns about the authenticity of the product.

After receiving the test results, Mr. Qi expressed his shock and frustration, especially since the brand, Rabbit King, is recognized as a well-known trademark and has received national exemptions and other honors. He reached out to both the company and the commercial building, seeking an explanation and compensation for the non-conforming product. However, the company denied producing the item, claiming that the trousers sold at Binjiang were counterfeit. When asked for written confirmation, the company refused to provide it. Meanwhile, Binjiang Commercial Building did not respond at all.

When the newspaper first contacted the Rabbit Emperor Company, General Manager Huang Jian stated that the company had never produced the "Rabbit King" wool trousers. He suggested that the products sold at Binjiang might be fake and promised to investigate and provide a clear response before September 10. Later, a representative from the Tianjin branch of Rabbit Emperor claimed that the samples sold at Binjiang were only trial items and not mass-produced. When the reporter tried to contact Binjiang Commercial Building directly, they were told that media inquiries should be directed to the General Office of Economic Affairs and Management, but no one answered the calls.

According to lawyer Guo Haiyue from Beijing Haodong Law Firm, under China’s Consumer Rights Protection Law, businesses are legally obligated to repair, replace, or refund goods if they cause consumer harm. If fraud is involved, consumers can demand double compensation. Mr. Qi can file a complaint with the relevant authorities using his purchase receipt, payment records, and the product itself. He also has the right to pursue legal action to protect his rights.

Trust and product quality are essential for any business to thrive. This case highlights a serious lack of corporate responsibility and integrity. By failing to meet quality standards and ignoring consumer complaints, the company has not only violated consumer rights but also damaged its own reputation. Ensuring product quality is not just a legal obligation—it is a fundamental promise to customers. Only companies that prioritize quality and transparency can build lasting trust and succeed in the market.
