LVMH Young Designer Grand Prix unveiled young designer award

On September 4th, the results of the 6th LVMH Prize Young Designer Grand Prix hosted by the French luxury giant LVMH Group was announced. The 26-year-old South African young designer Thebe Magugu won the championship.

Thebe Magugu will receive a prize of €300,000 and will receive the guidance and support of the LVMH Group's in-house fashion experts in the coming year. In addition to design, it also covers intellectual property, procurement, production and distribution, image and communication, marketing, and Other aspects such as sustainable development.

In addition, three recent graduates also received LVMH awards: Alice Paris of Accademia Costume & Moda in Rome, Daisy Yu of Central Saint Martins in London, and Juliette Tréhorel of Atelier Chardon Savard in Paris. They will all receive a prize of 10,000 euros and enter the Givenchy, Louis Vuitton and Christian Dior for one year.

The awarding guest was the 2016 Oscar for Best Supporting Actress Alicia Vikander, and the trophy was designed by artist Jean-Michel Othoniel. It is reported that the next Youth Designer Grand Prix will be held in June 2020.
