According to data from the Yiwu Inspection and Quarantine Bureau, from January to September this year, a total of 26,913 batches of textiles and garments were exported from Yiwu District, with a value reaching $9.421 billion, representing a year-on-year increase of 29.57% in volume and 32.66% in value. This impressive growth highlights the region's strong performance in both export quantity and value, showcasing its growing influence in the global textile market.
In response to shifting domestic and international industry trends, textile manufacturers in Yiwu have begun to recognize that low-end products are no longer as competitive as they once were. As a result, many companies are now focusing on designing and producing high-end, premium-quality products. They are striving to enhance product quality, boost innovation, and increase the value of their exports.
To support these efforts, the Yiwu Inspection and Quarantine Bureau has implemented a range of initiatives aimed at improving product quality and corporate management standards. The bureau has intensified its inspections on safety, hygiene, and anti-counterfeiting measures for textiles and clothing. It also conducts thorough checks on internal physical and chemical indicators, as well as labels, origin information, fabric composition, and care instructions. Companies are required to strictly adhere to national standards during sampling and inspection processes.
In addition, the bureau is working closely with enterprises to adapt to international market demands and improve product value. It actively monitors and researches foreign technical trade regulations, enabling companies to respond more effectively to emerging challenges. Through events like "Technical Regulations for Developing Countries," businesses gain direct insights into foreign technical requirements and consumer preferences, helping them better navigate green trade barriers.
The bureau also implements enterprise classification management, cultivating top-tier and second-tier companies to gradually shift from micro-level inspections to macro-level supervision. This approach enhances enterprises' awareness of quality and integrity. Furthermore, it organizes training sessions on domestic and international textile and garment regulations, assisting companies in meeting new technical standards, improving quality management practices, and ultimately achieving a transformation from "quantity" to "quality."
