Japan's Onward Kashiyama China's First Women's Clothing Store Settled in Tianjin

Recently, Japan's Onward Kashiyama Clothing Company settled in Tianjin's first women's clothing store in Tianjin.

According to reports, Onward Kashiyama owns such rights as DKNY, Polo Ralph Lauren, Missoni, and Paul Smith. The company already has a branch office and a procurement department in China. The newly established women's clothing store is the first step in its entry into the Chinese retail market. The company plans to start with department stores and gradually expand its sales network in China.

Onward Kashiyama Company is famous for producing knitted garments. It was previously processed in China. In recent years, the company has increased investment in new technologies, and some of its production and processing have been transferred back to Japan.

In another development, Onward Kashiyama plans to increase its store in China to five stores by 2007, and each store's annual sales are expected to reach 60 million yen (about 500,000 US dollars).
