In the face of the failure of domestic enterprises to face the "foreign procurement", we have to tell ourselves that it is hard to fight the iron, and it is necessary to have a real effort to climb the "foreign relatives".
The harshness of Carrefour makes suppliers fearful
With the acceleration of China's progress towards the "world factory", many multinational companies have set up global procurement centers in China. The two largest retailers in the world, "aircraft carrier" Carrefour and Wal-Mart have already set up camps in China, and international commercial enterprises are located in the country. There are more than 30 multinational procurement centers in Shanghai. It shows that the development of multinational commercial enterprises in the country is rapid. Although there are so many multinational commercial enterprises setting up multinational procurement centers in China, these international giants are very demanding on suppliers. Although the variety and quantity of their purchased goods is increasing, they have not lowered the supplier standards. Carrefour's choice of suppliers is more than the choice of quality of goods. For them, if they choose the right suppliers, they will be able to purchase qualified products. Without good suppliers, nothing can be said. So Carrefour's demanding requirements for suppliers may be a bit unintelligible. Their choice of suppliers usually takes half a year or one year to determine whether the supplier is qualified. Then, the price of the commodity is examined. After the inspection, the specifications and quality of the supplier's products are strictly tested and proofed, and the supplier is notified of the production. The investigation of suppliers by multinational commercial enterprises is divided into plant and production status, quality management, safety production, labor regulations, etc., even if the toilet is clean. In addition to quality management, they also pay special attention to the social behavior of suppliers. This is what many of us have not expected. It is not going to be a once-in-a-lifetime relationship with foreign multinational companies. They will continue to accept regular or irregular inspections of foreign purchases. If they find problems, they may be disqualified from the supplier.
Who is eligible to climb the "foreign relatives"
Then, what kind of situation is it as a person who wants to climb a foreigner by smashing the scalp? Do they have the time to climb the "foreign relatives"?
Investigating the composition of domestic personnel involved in the procurement of multinational companies, we can find that there are three main types. First, representatives of the government or government departments, second, representatives of large and medium-sized enterprises, and third, hand workshops or representatives of individual households.
A representative of a government or government department. Their original intention to participate in procurement is good. As an official, the rich and the people, any local government hopes that local products can go out and occupy the foreign market, especially the sales area of ​​multinational enterprises. They are also dreaming of it. Therefore, many local governments have led the brigade to the foreign procurement site according to the thinking of the planned economy period, but the results are often unsatisfactory. The reason is that whether it is Carrefour or Wal-Mart's foreign procurement, they are not welcome representatives of the government or government departments. For them, the emergence of government officials will only lead to inefficient procurement, and will only distort the transmission of procurement information. Therefore, although one party is a bloody and passionate person, it seems that it is worthwhile, but one party is not convinced. Under the conditions of market economy, the government should do more for enterprises to do good information services, create a relaxed environment for their operations, and attempt to do specific business negotiations, which are often worth the loss. Therefore, representatives of the government or government departments involved in the purchase of foreign countries can only be called "shuishui" like drowning.
The second category of large and medium-sized enterprises. They are the main players involved in foreign procurement, and they are also more popular with foreign purchases. However, due to their lack of preparation for foreign procurement, their mentality is not mature enough, and the methods are still inadequate, so they are quite losers. So what is the cause of their failure?
The author thinks that the first is that they are not used to foreign multinational companies. Perhaps their products are very competitive in China, but the competitiveness in China may not be of interest to foreign multinational companies. Due to the similarities and differences in consumption habits, living standards, and national culture, the diversity of cross-border procurement is determined. Perhaps many suppliers can rely on interpersonal relationships to open sales channels in China, but they may not be effective for foreign multinational companies.
Secondly, they have insufficient understanding of the procurement procedures of foreign multinational companies. Many well-known large-scale commercial retail circulation enterprises in China have strict requirements for purchasing goods, but their severity is much worse than that of foreign multinational companies. Which domestic shopping malls choose suppliers for half a year or even One year? Which of our shopping malls is as serious as the control of the supply chain? Which of our domestic shopping malls also considers the environmental governance of production companies when they purchase goods? Therefore, domestic large and medium-sized production enterprises may not be able to adapt to the complex access principles of foreign procurement, and may not have such patience.
Once again, domestic large and medium-sized enterprises are facing the “purchase circle†of foreign multinational companies in the face of foreign procurement. The desire of domestic companies as suppliers is definitely to sell high-priced goods to foreign multinational companies, but foreign multinational companies want to purchase domestic goods at the lowest possible price. If the same quality of goods has a larger range of choices, then it will provide foreign multinational companies with the opportunity to rely on various means to suppress similar suppliers, do everything possible to make them "kill each other", and they "mountain Look at the tiger fight, when the two lose, then start to implement procurement actions, you say who is the winner of market competition.
Later, domestic large and medium-sized suppliers have insufficient research on the demand for products in foreign markets. In addition to domestic sales, multinational products may have to face foreign markets. However, because suppliers do not have enough research on the demand for foreign goods, they often make mistakes in "anti-aircraft guns and mosquitoes". Although they have spent a lot of effort, they often lose their hands because of lack of pertinence. Such large and medium-sized enterprises participating in foreign procurement can be called "testing water."
Then the third type of hand workshop or self-employed representative participates in the procurement of multinational companies. What is their success rate? These hand workshops or self-employed representatives are more fanciful, have the ambition to open up the market, have a strong desire for success, and they are good at the original intention of opening the door to foreigners, but they have decided because of their own strength. The quality of the products may not be high enough, their reputation is not as good as the foreign procurement requirements, and their production environment can not be strictly checked by the multinational procurement company. Therefore, the hand workshop or the self-employed representative is better not to sneak into the foreign procurement for the time being. It is better to first practice hard at home, improve the strength and product quality, and then participate in the procurement of multinational companies. Therefore, most of these representatives will be drowning in the face of foreign purchases. It is good to die without drowning.
