Archaeological personnel used drilling surveys and partial excavation methods to find that the three gates of Fuling's east, north and west have the same structure. According to the latest survey, the Fuling Xionggong site is huge in scale, and there are two walls inside and outside. The outer walls are all about 380 meters long. At the same time, there are many buildings and ruins in the inner city and inside and outside the city.
Qin Jianming pointed out: "'Drilling investigation and partial trial excavation' is an archaeological investigation method, and archaeological investigation does not mean that Fuling will be discovered soon. 'Archaeological investigation' only collects data and estimates the underground structure of the mausoleum according to surface phenomena." Jianming mentioned that when the archaeologists carried out partial excavation on the north gate of Fuling, they discovered an underground stone tiger and two stone tiger pedestals. The archaeological investigators did not have the right to excavate them. Re-filling back, but the discovery of Shihu provided new information for the study of stone carvings outside the northern gate of the Tang Dynasty.
